EJGH 4224 Clinic Staff

Non Clinical Support Staff:

Tori Livingston, Patient Access Associate/Referral Coordinator:

  • Scheduling all referrals for all Urology MDs at all locations. Entering referrals from e-fax.
  • Will begin in clinic patient check out and follow-up apt scheduling in the next week to allow clinical staff to focus on patient care and clinic throughput.
  • Will be the Urology scheduling super user- Tori. L has super overbook access and will be assisting me in managing to 50-60 procedure/scheduling changes requests received from the team daily because of EPIC template limitations.
  • Tori. L will assist me with coordinating transplant stent removal procedure scheduling, NFL patient scheduling, and international patient scheduling.
  • Requests to schedule patient for follow-up appointments should be sent to Tori Livingston in Lieu of Sheila. We want Sheila to be handling more complex requests, patient calls, prior auths, RX refills, etc.
Medical Assistants:

Seletha Ricard, Medical Assistant- out on FMLA through August

Tori Boyd, Medical Assistant for Caso, Chesrow and Jenkins clinics.

  • Confirming patient appointments, pre-triaging clinics Dr. Caso, Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Chesrow (see my emails to team with pre-triage steps).
    • Tori has access to eCW and is reconciling medical records
  • Vitals, rooming patients, turning over exam rooms.
  • Scanning patient documents from clinic into chart.
  • Assisting with e-faxes, scheduling, patient check out, etc.
  • Tori completes pre-triage for Monday clinics on Fridays which is why she is not deployed to DT clinic for Friday's.

Float Triage MA:

  • Additional MA support will be allocated for busier clinics - determined by Dana & Daniel based on weekly projected clinic volume.
Nurses:

Please note we are getting up to 3-4 patient walk ins to clinic per day requesting to speak with RN, which pulls our RNs away from clinic and patient care that they are working on. I am tracking this for additional data and analysis, but whenever possible we want to encourage patients to call the clinic.

Sheila Warner, LPN:

  • #1 priority is handling incoming patient calls for Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Chesrow from the phone teams.
  • Simple requests to schedule follow-up appointments should be sent to Tori Livingston, we want Sheila to handle more complex requests.
  • Working Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Chesrow RX prior auths, e-faxes, etc. --> as clinic volume grows there will be a need to split Dr. Chesrow and Dr. Jenkins workloads, for now Delecia, Dean, Martha, Tori. B are assisting when they are not working clinics or prepping for clinics.
  • Coordinates surgery clearance for Dr. Chesrow EJGH patients. Communicates arrival times to patients for surgery at EJ for Dr. Chesrow.

Dana Charlot, RN Navigator:

  • Dr. Caso clinic nurse-completes clinic billing, patient calls for Dr. Caso, handles all of Dr. Caso patient care coordination, PowerShare/Imaging requests, scheduling, e-faxes, RX refills, authorizations, etc.
  • Supports Dr. Chesrow and/or Dr. Jenkins clinic if additional RN coverage or triage is needed. This is usually needed on days when there are 2 MDs in clinic and there are multiple procedures scheduled at the same time as clinic.
  • RN clinic visits for all 3 MDs- catheter changes, cath pulls, Eligard injections
  • Coordinates surgery clearance for Dr. Caso patients.
  • Communicates arrival times to patients for surgery at EJ for Dr. Caso & Dr. Jenkins.
  • Medication administration/documentation.
  • The plan is for Dean and Martha to take on a more active role in procedures/clinic to free up Dana. C for additional duties.

Delecia Allen, RN:

  • Clinic RN for Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Chesrow. Assists with procedures, works DT clinic on Friday's. Clinic billing.
  • Paperwork for Jenkins and Hellstrom.
  • RN visits for all 3 MDs.
  • Medication administration/documentation.
  • The plan is for Dean and Martha to take on a more active role in procedures/clinic to free up Delecia to focus more on Dr. Jenkins admin duties and allow for Sheila to focus on Dr. Chesrow admin duties.

Dean Williams, RN Supervisor ASC- temporarily assigned to Urology Clinic until ASC opens:

  • New to EPIC and LCMC Health, there is a learning curve, but he is hard working and knowledgeable and just needs some direction. He will be most helpful to us physically working clinic with instruction.
  • Extra clinical hands, please engage him and tell him what to do and he will happily help, he just needs instruction.
  • He is supporting procedures at DT clinic as well on Fridays.
  • Assists with clinic pre-triage.
  • The plan is for Dr. Chesrow to teach Dean her UDS protocols for easy transition to EJ ASC when the time comes.

Martha Goldthwaite, RN Martha.Goldthwaite@lcmchealth.org:

  • Started with Urology Monday 8/12
  • Clinic RN for Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Chesrow, Dr. Caso - will perform procedures, etc.
  • Will focus on procedures and clinic care, she will not handle paperwork.
  • The plan is for Martha to get up to speed with clinic care to allow for Delecia and Dana. C to focus more on paperwork/administrative tasks. Martha and Dean will be the hands on in clinic RNs.
